“Ball Park” Costs of Installed Equipment:

 Furnaces:

Run-Tru / Trane 80% Furnaces:  These furnaces are commonly installed in finished basements or other areas where it is impractical to run horizontal exposed PVC vent pipe.  Options include variable speed blowers & two (2) stage heat. Available in Trane or Run-Tru branding and sizing from 26,000 BTUs to 120,000 BTU input.

Cost Range………………………….………$2,200 to $3,500

Trane 95%+ Furnaces with Two Stage Heat:  This is our most popular condensing furnace at a moderate cost.  It requires PVC piping normally installed in sidewalls of your home or business.  High efficiency gas heating plus the superior blower make it work well on less than ideal duct systems.   Special financing is available.

Cost Range………………………………………………$3,200 to $4,700

Trane 96%+ Two (2) Stage Variable Speed ECM Blowers

This furnace has all of the benefits of the furnaces (above) plus exceptionally quiet operation on 1st stage. It is able to pair with any Trane air conditioner, including variable speed compressor models. It features a very economical constant fan operation which uses Trane “Comfort R” technology for superior humidity removal whether using a variable speed, two stage or single stage compressor.  It can be installed as an airtight furnace with it’s insulated cabinet for crawl space or attic installation.

Cost Range………………………………………………. $4,800 to $5,700

Trane 96%+ Modulating Gas Input with Variable Speed ECM Blowers (THUM)

This unit has almost all the features of  the ‘S’ furnace while being even better suited for zoning and heat pump applications. In combination with Trane’s zone system and a variable speed air conditioner, it will reduce capacity enough that it can use an 8” pipe for a single zone without a by-pass damper.  Trane blows it’s competition away with this awesome technology.

Cost Range…………………………………………………$5,000 to $6,000

Air Conditioning:          1.5 to 5.0 tons

What is SEER?      SEER ( AC efficiency) is equal to MPG (automotive term).  The higher the SEER the more cooling you get per KWH of electricity.

Run-Tru / Trane 13 & 14 SEER:  XR13 & XR14

While these units are close to the Federal minimum standard for air conditioner efficiency, they are 30-40% more efficient than a typical 20 year old air conditioning system you might find in Peoria.  These standard units can be installed on almost any furnace.  The added benefit of updating the refrigerant to R410A can be huge.  The majority of  currently installed systems still use R-22 refrigerant.  R-22 is global warming and will be totally out of production by 2020 (this year!) in the USA.

Cost Estimate……………….$3,400 to $5,300

Trane 16 SEER: XR16 & XL16i

These highly efficient units with their large coil areas stay cleaner and use about half the electricity of the units they typically replace.  16 SEER units will work best and perform to their rated efficiency when installed with high efficiency Trane furnaces.

Cost Estimate…………….$3,900 to $6,200

Trane 17 & 18 SEER:  XR17 & XL 18i

In addition to super high efficiency, these units are two stage which means they will remove more humidity than a single stage air conditioner.  While air conditioners are not dehumidifiers, Trane couples two stage operation, “Comfort R” airflow, and summer time humidity compensating thermostat controls to maximize humidity control in the summer. These systems run quietly and have long run cycles so they are constantly removing humidity. Two stage operation and variable speed blowers make them work with Trane’s Zoning System.

Cost Estimate…………….$4,800 to $7,400

Trane 18 & 20 SEER with Variable Speed Compressors:  XV18 & XV20

These units have all the benefits of the above with superior performance as a zoned system.  There is no need for bypass dampers with this Trane equipment.  Zones can be as small as a single large bedroom.  Other than superior zoning performance, major benefits of variable speed compressor systems include: 700 stages of comfort, advanced temperature control, lower humidity, reduced sound (as low as 57db(a)) enhanced filtration and the lowest cost per minute.

Cost Estimate…………..$6,000 to $8,600

The above costs include Trane communicating thermostats, ductwork, furnace sizing to Manual J standards, rework of supply air plenum, rework of return air drop with provision for 5” thick filter(s) and up to MERV 16, properly sized blower and motor, venting of products of combustion, provision for combustion air per code, condensate removal on all 95+ furnaces, electric and gas pipe connections, removal and disposal of old equipment, labor and sales tax.
This pricing represents typical installation costs without taking into consideration Ameren, Trane, State or Federal incentives.
Items not included in the above include:  Work required to comply with building codes, relocation of equipment, duct modifications other than reconnections, piping or wiring changes, etc.

Trane Evaporative Humidifiers:

Small Bypass Type: THUMD200

This is the easiest humidifier to install with its small foot print.  It comes with it’s own humidistat or can be wired into Trane’s current generation of humidity controlling thermostats.  It uses an inexpensive, commonly available #10 evaporative pad. These small humidifiers can work in a 4,000 sq ft house if it’s well air sealed.

Cost to Install ………………………………….$540 to $630

Large Bypass Type: THUMD300

This is a bigger version of the above with a larger pad and more capacity. It uses a commonly available #35 evaporative pad.

Cost to Install …………………………….….$590 to $675

Large Power Humidifier: THUMD500

These large power humidifiers have more capacity than a bypass humidifier and do not ‘rob’ air from the furnace blower.  It also does not allow humid air to be routed through the blower compartment. They are almost mandatory on an electronic air cleaner system to  maintain functional electronic controls. It also uses the commonly available #35 evaporative pads.

Cost to Install ……………………………….$760 to $800
